The following are suggested home remedies when suffering from diarrhea:

1. Put a tbsp, of sugar or honey and add a tsp. of salt in a half liter (500ml) of water, mix it well. Drink this every 30 minutes, Or you can purchase a liquid replacement drink in powder form found in drugstores.

2. Fast for 6 hours, drinking liquids or the liquid replacement drink.

3. Drink hot tea or rice water several times a day.

4. Start consuming a few spoonfuls of boiled rice without seasoning, increasing the amount every 3 to 4 hours. You can add small amount if fish or boiled chicken tot he rice if your stomach feels better..

5. The following day you can eat white bread, yogurt, carrots, boiled potatoes, mashed boiled apples to your diet

6. Eliminate foods with high fiber

7. Avoid milk, cold cuts and greasy foods because they take longer time to digest

8. Eliminate consuming sweetened orange juice

9. Eliminate the intake of seasonings and spices because they tend to irritate the mucous membrane.
